What is the taxi fare to/from Prestwick?

There are a number of local taxi companies.

Approx fare to/from Prestwick is £14 (Up to 5 people)

Are there accommodation facilities on site?

Our visitors stay in a variety of hotels in the Ayrshire area, the closest hotel is the Gailes Hotel which is a 2-minute drive from Dundonald Links;


How far in advance do I need to book a tee time?

Tee times may be booked up to a year in advance to the day of play, to avoid disappointment we would suggest you book at least a week in advance.

What is the time difference from the U.S and Canada

Is there a handicap restriction?

There is no set handicap restriction however proof of handicap may be requested. We welcome all golfers as long as they can keep up with the pace of play.

Does the course close?

No the course is open for play with regular tees, full fairways and greens, no mats, 7 days a week, unless maintenance work is being carried out on the course.

What is the dress code in the clubhouse?

Standard golf attire on the course and in the clubhouse.

Can I wear golf shoes in the clubhouse?

Yes, golf shoes can be worn in all areas of the clubhouse.

Is there WIFI available in the clubhouse?

Yes, there are WIFI facilities in the clubhouse.

Can I smoke at the club?

Smoking is permitted on the course but not in the clubhouse. There is a designated smoking area on the clubhouse balcony.


Can I be a member of Dundonald Links?

Three types of Membership are offered, a Seven Day, Five Day and a Corporate Membership.

How much does a caddie cost?

£45 plus gratuity (generally 20% of the fee)

How long does it take to play Dundonald Links?

If players stick to the pace of play it should take no longer that 4 ½ hours for 18 holes.

What tees should I play from?

Red tees (Front – 5560 yards) – Ladies tee

White tees (Middle – 6340 yards) – these are the standard visitor tees and will provide a good test. We recommend you play from the white tees if you have never played the course.

Blue tees (Medal – 6725 yards) These tees are for lower handicap golfers.

Black tees (Championship – 7100 yards) These tees are for professional golfers or very low handicap golfers.

Are there practice facilities?

Yes, there is an exceptional 330-metre long practice range providing space for 35 golfers to hit simultaneously off manicured turf grass. There is also a short game area and putting green.

A basket of golf balls may be purchased from the Professional Shop.

Can golfers with disabilities play Dundonald Links?

We welcome all golfers regardless of disability however we do advise you contact the club in advance to ensure all your needs are met and the best experience possible.

Can I purchase refreshments on the way round?

The course is two loops of nine so you will pass the clubhouse on your way to the 10th tee, where you can purchase refreshments and use the toilet facilities. There may also be a refreshments cart on the golf course which you can purchase from.

Are trollies available?

Yes, pull trollies are available at £5 and electric trollies at £18

Are buggies available?

Yes, we have 6 golf buggies available for hire, we ask if you could book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Are golf clubs available for hire?

Yes, we have full sets of Titleist golf clubs in left and right hand. These cost £40 to hire for the day.
