Director of Golf, Guy Redford, and his team offer a comprehensive golf coaching programme.
Guy Redford, Director of Golf
Guy’s talent for golf developed at an early age. At 17 he won the Club Championship at Gleneagles and went on to represent Scotland at home and abroad. After accepting a USA Golf Scholarship, he became part of a 6 man team to win the WJCAA Championship. Turning Pro at Turnberry in 1994, he embarked on his PGA training and progressed to become manager of the Colin Montgomerie Links Golf Academy, where he was promoted to Head Professional. In 2003, Guy was appointed by Loch Lomond Golf Club as Head Pro at Dundonald Links. Now Director of Golf, he is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Club. Guy has had the pleasure of playing golf with Open Champions Tom Weiskopf, Bob Charles, Tony Jacklin and Tom Watson.
Iain Colquhoun, PGA Assistant Golf Professional
Iain joined the team in 2005 and graduated from the PGA in 2010. As an Amateur, Iain represented Renfrewshire Golf Union and helped win the Scottish Area Team Championships in 2008, for the first time in seventeen years. He also played for Scotland, at Boys and Youth level, and was included in SGU elite coaching sessions. On leaving school, he accepted a Golf Scholarship at Midland College, Texas. Here he won two collegiate events and was part of the number one ranked team in the States in 2000/01 & 2001/02. Before turning Professional, he played off a handicap of +4. Since turning Professional, Iain has won seven Tartan Tour events and competes regularly on the Tartan Tour.
David Ross Nicol, PGA Assistant Golf Professional
David Ross joined the team in 2007 and completed his PGA training in 2011. A former Scottish Schools basketball international, David Ross took up golf seriously at the age of 15, and by 18 was a scratch player at the Welbeck Golf Club in Troon. He has an HND in Hospitality Management, and has since gained a broad range of experience in hospitality and retail. David Ross plays a key role in event management, having worked on tournaments such as the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy.
